Documentary: Contemporary Indigenous Voices
Join us for a series of 3 short documentary films from previous King Artist Resident with the Palo Alto Public Arts program Kirti Bassendine representative of her latest work, Contemporary Indigenous Voices of California's South Coast Range (CIVSCR). After the screenings, you are welcome to stay for a Q&A session Kirti.
The CIVSCR project highlights cultural connections between Indigenous people and their ancestral lands and exploring related contemporary topics such as rematriation of land and climate change. On exhibition at the de Young Museum of Fine Art in San Francisco October 2023 – January 2024, the CIVSCR features local Indigenous community members including:
