City Attorney

Our mission is to serve the City of Palo Alto by providing high-quality legal representation. We partner with the City Council and City Manager to find creative approaches to the opportunities and challenges that face Palo Alto.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Draft contracts, legislation, legal opinions, and other legal documents
• Negotiate on behalf of the city
• Advise city officials on how to manage risk and comply with the law
• Enforce the Municipal Code
• Defend the city, and city employees, when we are sued
