Police Investigating Interrupted Residential Burglary

Palo Alto, CA – Police are investigating the burglary of an occupied home Friday night. The suspects are unknown and at large.
On Friday, September 5, 2025, at about 11:05 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call reporting a burglary that had just occurred at a residence on the 3300 block of Louis Road. The residents, a man in his seventies and a woman in her thirties, were awaken by a loud noise in the residence. The man walked to the living room to see what caused the noise. The man saw a person standing in the dark that he did not recognize. The man and woman then retreated to their bedroom and locked the door and called police. The Palo Alto Police arrived within minutes and canvased the area.
The investigation revealed that the unknown suspects had entered the home by smashing a rear sliding glass door. Nothing is known to have been taken. The suspects left the area prior to police arrival.
Officers reviewed security camera footage in the area and determined that an unknown number of suspects had arrived and fled in a SUV. Detectives are actively investigating this incident.
