Celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month: Heritage Tiles

Heritage Tiles workshop with Kiana Honarmand

Celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month and transform air-dry clay into personalized tiles using treasured objects!

Join CASP (Cubberley Artist Studio Program) artist in residence Kiana Honarmand for an afternoon of art and self-discovery. No experience needed - bring your creativity and a few heirlooms to create a unique piece representing your heritage.

Note: Bring a treasured object with intriguing textures that speaks to your past, history, or family. This could be a grandparent's weathered coin, a rough piece of pottery, a textured button, a decorative comb, or anything else that holds special meaning and leaves a unique imprint.

This even is open to tweens, teens, and adults. Ages 10+, younger children can attend, but adult supervision is REQUIRED due to the tools we will be using. Registration is required.

Kiana Honarmand is an Iranian artist whose work delves into the complexities of her cultural identity, the violation of women's rights in Iran, and the Western perception of the SWANA identity. In 2012, she relocated to the United States to pursue her MFA at Penn State University. Currently based in the Bay Area, Kiana's work has been featured and reviewed in publications such as the Washington Post, Hyperallergic, Voice of America, and SHOUTOUT LA. Kiana’s art has been exhibited in numerous renowned venues nationally and internationally.
