Halloween FrankenBag Workshop with Tara de la Garza
Thursday, October 30, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Studio F2, Cubberley Community Center.
As part of her residency at the Cubberley Artist Studio Program (CASP), artist Tara de la Garza invites the community to a special Halloween FrankenBag Workshop. Known for her social practice work that transforms discarded plastics and salvaged materials into art and design, specifically her Rubbish Bags, Tara is opening her studio for a hands-on event that combines creativity, sustainability, and a touch of spooky fun. In the spirit of her minimal-waste practice, Tara will share resources from her studio, inviting participants to remix the remains of thrifted bags, defunct hardware, and fused plastics into one-of-a-kind creations. Think of it as bag-making with a Frankenstein twist: reanimating forgotten materials into something entirely new.
Palo Alto Costumes encouraged! Sewing skills helpful but not required. Join fellow makers in reimagining waste as resource, and take home a truly unique FrankenBag of your own.
