How to Draw a Portrait

This lecture Cubberley Artist-in-Residence Eric Guan will introduce key techniques for drawing a strong portrait, including basic composition, sketching methods, capturing expression and personality, and shading techniques for skin, hair, and facial features.

The City of Palo Alto's Cubberley Artist Studio Program (CASP). This is a unique rent-subsidized program with 22 artist studios for long-term residencies and Rotating Artist Studios for short-term rentals. Long-term rent-subsidized studios with CASP are provided in exchange for community service where the artists offer free public programming.
