Discover the public spaces hiding in plain sight! Join artist Lisa Van Dusen for a walking tour and participatory public artwork exploring Downtown Palo Alto’s overlooked Privately Owned Public Open Spaces (POPOS). Together, participants will activate these unique plazas, pathways, and gardens while reimagining their role in public life.

Free, accessible, and open to the public. All ages are welcome. RSVPs are appreciated but not required, and walk-ins are welcome.

Public Benefit: Pop-Ups in the POPOS is an ongoing public art project by artist Lisa Van Dusen that activates Palo Alto’s Privately Owned Public Open Spaces (POPOS) through playful, site-specific experiences that encourage discovery, creativity, and community connection.

This project is funded in part by the City of Palo Alto Public Art Program’s ArtLift Grant Program.
