To keep you connected and up to date on notable Palo Alto City Council meeting discussions, we are sharing a brief weekly update. At the City Council meeting on April 4, 2022, the following actions took place.

The Police Department presented its Annual Report and provided an update on radio encryption. Council directed staff to develop programs to pursue near real time streaming of calls for services and to narrow location of the calls, support Senator Becker’s proposed SB-1000, increase communications between PAPD and the media, and to evaluate current policies and effectiveness of the use of force reports and recommend modifications if necessary. Council also reviewed and approved workplans and related community engagement for the 2022 City Council priorities.
