Suicide prevention starts with awareness and action. The Jed Foundation, in partnership with the City of Palo Alto, is hosting a workshop for community members where they will gain a foundational understanding of key terms related to suicide and learn how to recognize signs that someone may be at risk. We will explore common misconceptions that can prevent individuals from seeking help and discuss strategies for reducing access to lethal means. Participants will also learn how to support someone in crisis, including taking immediate steps and engaging in safety planning. This interactive session equips participants with practical skills to foster a culture of care and intervention.
