Public Safety Building Flag Raising

The community is invited to mark that the Public Safety Building is operational by attending a joint Palo Alto Police and Palo Alto Fire honor guard flag raising on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. Stay for light refreshments following the flag raising. 
 
The Public Safety Building public counter is now open, so visit 350 Sherman Avenue should you need assistance. The Forest Avenue customer counter location is closed. 
 
Phased move in of the new building continues with the new facility supporting the Police Department, 911 Emergency Dispatch Center, the Emergency Operations Center, the Office of Emergency Services, and the administration needs of the Fire Department.
