Celebration of "One Home Only (Iterations)"--a pandemic-era project
In May 2021, Palo Alto-based interdisciplinary artist Martha Sakellariou invited members of her community and beyond to respond to the theme of home in a three-part, collaborative performance and installation piece called One Home Only (Iterations). This project examined the meanings and tensions of home a year into the pandemic through text, images, spoken word, music, and dance. Over the course of three weeks, the exterior of Rinconada Library became a canvas and stage to host the evolving visual installations and pop-up performances for a limited audience.
On the third anniversary of this project, Sakellariou invites her collaborators and the community to return and explore elements of the installation through images, a dance video by Kristin Damrow Company, and spoken word by writer Jennifer Lee.
Please join us at this multimedia event that includes an artist’s talk, a presentation, a short screening, and a live reading. Light refreshments reception to follow. RSVP with the Library is recommended.
