Cinetero
Meet artist Miguel Novelo Cruz and participate in his collaborative cinema performance series called Cinetero. For this project, the artist had built an adapted bike cargo trailer with video projection and sound equipment to create a live sound and video feed activating Palo Alto public spaces. Cinetero allows the creation of live cinema; in other words, the magic of cinema is made at the moment, with no editing. The artwork is activated when the visitors engage with the artist and share their personal stories about Palo Alto in a cinematic style, with ambient music, camera movement, and sound effects provided by the artist.
Meet the artist and take part in Cinetero across these Palo Alto parks:
- Eleanor Pardee Park: Friday, Aug 19, 6-8 p.m.
- Johnson Park: Friday, Aug 26, 6-8 p.m.
The ArtLift Microgrant Program is an ongoing special program launched in 2021 by the Palo Alto Public Art Program. It provides funding for temporary projects by local artists and creatives with the goal of helping the community find connection and joy through the arts and creative outlets while encouraging play, belonging, community participation, and promote shared experiences in and around Palo Alto.
