Join artist Jaya Griscom for a series of hands-on indigo dye workshops at Cubberley Community Center. Open to all ages and skill levels, these workshops invite participants to explore the magic of natural dye—watching fabric transform from green to vibrant blue through a simple, age-old process.

Across three weekends, participants can sew, pattern, and dye their own textiles, including flags, bandanas, and bags. Learn a range of techniques—from stitching and folding to resist methods—before dipping your work into a shared community indigo vat.

The final weekend features a large-scale community dye day, where participants can bring their creations to life and contribute to a collective experience of color, craft, and connection.

Participants are welcome to take their dyed textiles home, and select works will also be featured in a temporary display at Cubberley.

All materials provided. No prior experience needed.

Sponsored by the ArtLift Grant Program, part of the City of Palo Alto Public Art Program.
