"Creative Attention" Community Day

Creative Attention Art and Community Restoration logo

Celebrate community and resilience at the Creative Attention Community Day! This free event will feature hands-on artmaking, an opportunity to contribute to a lobby mural labyrinth with artist Maia Scott, a drag performance led by Grace Towers, and more! Take part in a special workshop with The Mending Collective, a group of artists who create space for people to come together to learn and practice visual mending techniques. Meet artist Rayos Magos and share the rituals you developed during Covid to promote mental health, and join artist Johnna Arnold for a guided meditation and photo portrait activity. Meet artist Christine Wong Yap and the teens who created the Belonging zine. Participate in artist and healer Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle's KACH Studio: Sonic Retrieval Sound Bath experience (space is limited; please contact Stephanie Barajas at stephanie.barajas@paloalto.gov to reserve your spot) and enjoy a tea ceremony celebrating the healing power of trees with artist Paz de la Calzada.

Grace Towers will host a drag performance featuring Nicki Jizz, Mercedez Munro, CREAM, LOTUS BOY, and Phoebe Cakes, all drag performers from various Houses in the Bay Area.
