Handmade Books for Juneteenth

Workshops with artist Nasim Moghadam

Nasim Moghadam, art educator and hyper-local artist-in-residence with the City of Palo Alto and the Cubberley Artist Studio Program is offering two programs in collaboration with the Palo Alto Library at the Mitchell Park branch, this summer:

Handmade Books for Juneteenth

Celebrate Juneteenth by creating a handmade booklet filled with your own collage work! Under the guidance of CASP visual artist and art educator Nasim Moghadam, these workshops promises to inspire and ignite your imagination. Come and create your own unique booklets to treasure or share with others! Please note that this program is designed as a two-part series: we will be creating blank books in our first session, then filling them with collage in the next session:

Session 1: Handmade Bookmaking Workshop

Thursday, June 12, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Midtown Room, Mitchell Park Library.

Discover the art of crafting your own booklets from scratch. Bring your book with you for Session 2!

Session 2: Collage for Juneteenth

Thursday, June 19, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Midtown Room, Mitchell Park Library.

Fill the pages of your handmade books with Juneteenth-inspired collage work! Patrons without handmade books will be shown how to create a simple folded booklet for the collage project.

Space is limited. Registration is not mandatory, but is encouraged to receive an email reminder about the event.
