Small Gestures

Victoria Heilweil Postcards

Small Gestures is a series of pop-up artist-led community events created by artist Victoria Heilweil that engage the public in a conversation about value and beauty through postcard writing. The artist will create a limited edition of artist-made cards featuring photography with scenes around Palo Alto taken by the artist and members of the Palo Alto Camera Club. The postcards will include a question on the back that prompts participants to to reflect on value, beauty, and community. Participants will write their name and address on a sticker to be attached to a random postcard at the end of each day, and then choose a postcard from the rack to write their thoughts and messages to a stranger. Participants will get their surprise postcard as a gift for contributing to this project.
