Weaving with Found Objects
Next date: Sunday, August 23, 2026 | 02:00 PM
to 03:30 PM
Join mixed-media artist Jasmine Valandani for a free hands-on workshop exploring the basics of weaving through playful material experimentation.
Participants will learn how ordinary objects from home or nature can become unexpected looms, from picture frames and branches to seashells, pottery pieces, and other found materials. No experience is needed, and materials will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to bring an object to weave on, as well as fibers to share, such as yarn, ribbon, recycled fabric strips, paper, or plant materials.
Free, registration required. Class size is limited to 20 participants. Suitable for ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This workshop is presented by the Cubberley Artist Studio Program and the Palo Alto City Library.
