Whispers Through the Trees
Next date: Thursday, June 04, 2026 | 12:30 PM
to 02:30 PM
Join artist Sophia Lee for hands-on public workshops connected to her ArtLift project, Whispers Through the Trees. Participants will create soft sculptural “fortune cookies” using reclaimed canvas, paint, and decorative materials, then add a hidden message that may be kind, playful, reflective, or quietly hopeful.
The completed pieces will become part of Whispers Through the Trees, a participatory public art installation planned for installation in September at the California Avenue Caltrain Station. Selected community-created pieces will be nestled in trees along California Avenue, where their messages will hang and move gently through the branches.
No art experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. This workshop series is free and open to the public.
Presented as part of the ArtLift Grants Program through the City of Palo Alto Public Art Program.
