A workshop about literature and art with artist Martha Sakellariou  

Are you an art enthusiast, a bookworm, or both? Curious how literature can spark an artist’s creativity and shape their work? Cubberley artist-in-residence Martha Sakellariou invites you to explore books, text and visual arts. Martha will share how reading fuels her creative process and spotlight key books that have inspired her projects. We will look at other artists who incorporate text and literature into their work and will experiment with words and images in a creative exercise. Tea and basic materials provided. You are welcome to bring a favorite book or share a text that inspires you. 

This session is suitable for adults and ideal for those who: 

• Have an interest in exploring the creative connection between books and visual art 

• Want to learn more about interdisciplinary artistic processes 

• Want to explore their creativity using books as inspiration 

• Enjoy storytelling and imagination 

• Have ideas they would like to share!
