Veterans Day 2025: Service to Our Nation

This event is being held at the Hoover Institute, David and Joan Traitel Building in the the heart of the Stanford Campus. This will be a wonderful opportunity to see the Stanford Campus, participate in a high caliber community event, and honor our local Veterans. All are invted to attend.

We are partnering with a number of organizations and institutions including:

Stanford University
Stanford University Office of Military-Affiliated Communities
American Legion Palo Alto Post 375
Blue Star Moms of the South Bay

The City of Palo Alto, Stanford University, and the American Legion Palo Alto Post 375 are pleased to once again host a local Veterans Day Event to recognize the service and contributions of the Veterans of our U.S. Armed Forces. We encourage the local community to attend this special event, especially our local Veterans.

Event Highlights

This event will feature the South Bay Blue Star Moms who will honor Mr. Manny Velasco, a local Vietnam War Veteran, by presenting him with a Quilt of Valor.

The National Anthem, performed by The Mendicants of Stanford University Mens College Accapella Group

Adresses by Stanford and Palo Alto dignataries

And a very special Keynote Speaker

Attend a reception with light appetizers immediately following the event to socialize with our participants and guests.

Event Parking

Parking after 4pm on Stanford University is free.

Guests may park on the Stanford campus for free after 4pm, unless parking spaces are posted otherwise. The closest available parking to the Traitel building is along Roth Way and Lasuen St., by Frost Amphitheater and Bing Concert Hall.

To get to the Traitel building, walk along Lasuen St., under the archway and toward the Main Quad. Cross over the roundabout on Jane Stanford Way and continue up Lasuen St. until you see the Traitel building on your left.
