The City is in the process of updating the Zoning Ordinance to convert existing subjective standards to objective standards for multifamily residential and mixed use projects to meet new requirements under State law. City Council most recently reviewed the Objective Standards project on November 8th, at which time they directed staff to hold two community meetings to further discuss this project.
Join us for a second community meeting to discuss recommended changes to the Objective Standards project that will be presented for City Council consideration in the spring (April/May). This community meeting is a continuation of an iterative process following many discussions with the ARB, PTC and City Council that began December 2019.
Palo Alto’s Objective Standards project can be broken into two main pieces – 1) creation of objective design standards and 2) Code changes to clarify the process/requirements. Details about the project and contact information can be found on the project webpage - bit.ly/ObjectiveStandards
