SHARING SPACE:
BALANCING PUBLIC ACCESS AND HABITAT ENHANCEMENT AT THE PALO ALTO HORIZONTAL LEVEE PILOT PROJECT

Tuesday, November 16, 2021 10am - 12pm

The City of Palo Alto, in collaboration with the San Francisco Estuary Partnership and the Coastal Conservancy, invite you to learn about progress on the efforts to build a horizontal levee pilot project in the Palo Alto Baylands. This webinar will also feature presentations from experts on wildlife-compatible public access design guidelines, research, and best management practices. Horizontal levees are a green alternative to traditional flood control levee infrastructure. Horizontal levees use gentle, vegetated slopes to reduce wave energy and provide transitional habitat between tidal wetlands and upland ecosystems.
