Are You Ready for the Next Major Earthquake?

With the 34th anniversary of Loma Prieta on Oct. 17, 2023, and two earthquakes yesterday in Northern California — one near Berkeley (2.6M) and one in Humboldt County (2.9M) — it’s a good reminder to make sure we’re prepared in case one hits our area.

Over 179 earthquakes ranging between 2.5 and 6.0 magnitude have hit the United States in the last month per the United States Geological Survey. Scientists believe the next major earthquake will likely hit the San Francisco Bay Area between now and 2032, so it is critical that everyone make a plan on what to do when that time comes.
