Based on a reduction of COVID-19 trends, Santa Clara County Public Health Officials recently announced the end of the mask mandate as of Wednesday, March 2, though to ensure community health and safety, the County is strongly encouraging the public to wear masks indoors, especially in crowded public spaces.
As a result, the City is strongly encouraging wearing masks in all City facilities at this time. We appreciate your help in keeping our community and staff safe and healthy.
As a reminder, several of the City’s facilities are open to the public for services and programming. From a community facing standpoint, libraries are open for pickups, browsing, studying and computer use. Community centers are open for public use, classes, and other programming. The Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo is open at reduced capacity for visitors and closed once each day for safety cleaning.
In addition, the community can attend City Council meetings, City Council committee meetings, and City Board, Commission and Committee meetings in-person and virtually. Community members who wish to participate in person must provide vaccination proof or a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours. In addition, wearing a mask is strongly recommended to support community health and safety, and please continue to maintain social distance from others.
