The closures were scheduled between February 11 and continue through Sunday, February 14. February 13-14 - Highway 101 Closure

Caltrans will perform an overnight closure of US-101, between San Antonio Road and Embarcadero Road, in Palo Alto. Caltrans will begin with a partial closure of US-101 starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 13, and the freeway will be fully closed in northbound and southbound directions between San Antonio Road and Embarcadero Road on Sunday, February 14, between the hours of 1:30 a.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting. The full southbound and northbound closures are needed for the safe installation of the final segment of the new Highway 101 Pedestrian / Bike Bridge. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute.

This section of the bridge is approximately 107-foot long and weighs approximately 71,000 lbs. The freeway closure will not require any closure of City’s roads or streets.
