National Preparedness Month: Take Control in 1, 2, 3

National Preparedness Month takes place every September and serves as an opportunity to ensure that you and your family are ready for any potential disasters or emergencies that may occur unexpectedly. The initiative was established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to encourage individuals to proactively plan and prepare for unforeseen events. FEMA’s National Preparedness Month theme this year, “Take Control in 1, 2, 3,” encourages everyone, especially older adults, to become more prepared in three simple steps: Assess your needs, Make a Plan, and Engage your Support Network.
