Palo Alto Fire Department Holiday Fire Safety Tips

The holidays are one of the busiest seasons for home fires. The Palo Alto Fire Department shares fire safe tips to help keep you and your home safe for merrymaking.

“As we approach the holiday season, I want to remind everyone about the importance of fire safety in our community, especially cooking safety,” said City of Palo Alto Fire Department Chief Geo Blackshire. “Cooking causes over half of all reported home fires, and the chances of fire increase during the holidays. Although the festivities bring warmth and cheer, it is crucial that we also prioritize safety to ensure that these celebrations remain joyous.”
