Potential Additional Impacts
The community can expect to see flaggers at Palo Alto (Alma) Avenue and Churchill Avenue crossings throughout this work. Flaggers will be present at all Palo Alto crossings to maintain community safety and ensure gates function as intended during the test train runs.
Both vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be stopped for test trains until the crossing warning systems are certified for safe operation, although crossings will be open to vehicles and pedestrians when no test train is approaching. Test trains may operate as frequently as every 30 minutes with stoppages of up to 5 minutes as trains approach and cross.
