HONORING A LEGACY OF SERVICE
The Palo Alto Police Department is proud to announce the annual Martin A. Agueret Scholarship, established in memory of a dedicated volunteer who gave over 8,500 hours of service to our community. This $3,000 scholarship supports students pursuing careers in law enforcement and public safety.
WHO CAN APPLY:
- Students interested in a career in law enforcement
- Graduating high school seniors attending college in Fall 2026
- Current college students at: College of San Mateo, Foothill College, De Anza College, Evergreen College, West Valley College, or San Jose State University
- Students majoring in criminal justice, criminology, law, probation, public administration, communication, sociology, or psychology
- Minimum 2.5 GPA required
- Preference given to Palo Alto residents
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
✓ Completed application form
✓ Three letters of recommendation (one from a teacher or counselor)
✓ 300-word essay explaining your career goals in law enforcement or related field
✓ High school transcript (and college transcript if applicable)
