Palo Alto, CA – Police are investigating the burglary of an occupied home Friday night.   The suspects are unknown and at large.

On Friday, March 6, 2026, at about 10:20 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call reporting a burglary that had just occurred at a residence on the 200 block of Creekside Drive. The resident, a woman in her eighties, was in her bedroom sleeping and was awoken by a noise in her bedroom.  The woman saw a person looking in her closet that she did not recognize.  The woman questioned the suspect and he fled from the bedroom.  The Palo Alto Police arrived within minutes and canvased the area, but the suspect had fled prior to their arrival.

The investigation revealed that the unknown suspect had entered the home through an unlocked rear sliding glass door. The victim described the suspect as being a White male, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing all black clothing with a black beanie.  Later, police were able to contact another resident that was not home at the time.  The other resident did not know the suspect, and she reported that she was missing approximately $5000 in purses and jewelry.  Detectives are actively investigating this incident.
