Police Investigate Jewelry Robbery from Elderly Victim

Palo Alto, CA – Police are investigating a robbery case on a residential street Wednesday, where two suspects conspired to remove jewelry from an elderly male victim. The victim was not physically injured, and the suspects are unknown and at large.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2025, at about 12:35 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call reporting a strong-arm robbery that occurred on the 3700 block of Redwood Circle about twenty minutes earlier.
The investigation revealed that the victim, a male in his eighties, was walking in the 3700 block of Redwood Circle when a white SUV, driven by a man with a female passenger, pulled up next to him. The woman told the victim that she wanted to give him something and placed a piece of inexpensive costume jewelry in his hand. While doing this she removed several pieces of the victim’s jewelry from his hand and wrist. The victim did not report seeing any weapon. The suspects then drove off in an unknown direction. When the victim returned home, he notified police.
The victim described the female suspect as White or Hispanic. He said she was between 30 and 40 years old, with long hair and was wearing a light-colored dress. The victim described the driver as a male that was older than the female and wearing a fedora style hat.
Detectives are investigating this case to see if there is any connection to previous similar incidents. The most recent such case occurred in February 2025. The prior case remains unsolved as well, with no suspects identified.
