Police Investigating Indecent Exposure Incident with Juvenile Victim

Published on May 25, 2022

Palo Alto, CA Police are investigating an indecent exposure case from Tuesday morning, where an unknown suspect exposed himself to a juvenile female pedestrian.  Police have released a sketch of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at about 9:05 a.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call reporting an indecent exposure that had occurred about 15 minutes earlier in the 600 block of Arastradero Road.  Officers responded immediately but did not locate the suspect.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a high school-aged juvenile female, had been walking westbound on the north sidewalk of the 600 block of Arastradero Road.  As she approached a truck that was parked along the side of the road, she saw a man standing on the sidewalk side of the truck with his arm on its open window ledge.  She then noticed that his pants were unbuckled and that he was masturbating his exposed penis.  The suspect made eye contact with her and said something to her in Spanish.  The victim walked past him and continued on her way, and later notified police about what had happened.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male, about 25 years old, wearing a light blue T-shirt and gray pants.  She said he had a shaved head with black hair and was cleanshaven.  He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds.  The victim described the truck as a white older model pickup, possibly a Ford, with gardening equipment in the back.  She said the truck did not have any decals on it, nor did it have an extended cab or any storage racks in its bed.  On May 25, the victim met with a police sketch artist, who produced the attached sketch of the suspect.

Detectives are actively investigating this case.  There have been no similar cases reported recently to the police in Palo Alto.
