Robbery Occurs Last Night at Colorado Avenue 7-Eleven

Palo Alto, CA – Four suspects robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store in the Midtown neighborhood last night. The victim was not physically injured.  The suspects are at large.

On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at about 11:15 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from the clerk at the 7-Eleven store at 708 Colorado Avenue reporting that the store had just been robbed by four suspects who fled in a vehicle. Officers responded immediately, arriving about a minute later, but could not locate the suspect vehicle.

The investigation revealed that the suspects walked into the store and tried to enter the cashier’s area.  When the clerk, a man in his thirties, attempted to block their entry, one of the suspects pushed him back towards the cash register and threatened to beat him up if he did not cooperate.  After the clerk opened the register, the suspects stole cash and several cartons of cigarettes.  The suspects ran out of the store and got into a vehicle parked on Colorado Avenue just east of the driveway into the Safeway parking lot.  The vehicle fled eastbound on Colorado Avenue.  The victim was not physically injured.

The victim described the suspects as Black male juveniles, none older than 15 years of age.  They were all wearing hooded sweatshirts and face masks.  The victim described the suspect vehicle as a dark older-model sedan that had a lowered suspension.  No surveillance images are available for release, as they would not aid in suspect identification due to the faces being obscured.

The last time this particular 7-Eleven store was robbed was in December 2020.  Detectives are actively investigating last night’s case, including any possibility that the crime was connected to any incidents that may have occurred in other cities.
