Auditions

Auditions are held throughout the year at the Children’s Theatre for four types of productions. No experience is necessary.

Open to Age 8 through High School

Main Stage Productions – Indoor productions in the main theatre auditorium. The estimated timeline for these productions is auditions in September/October for performances in December and auditions in February for performances in April/May.

Summer Hot Dog Productions – Outdoor productions on the Magic Castle Stage, next to the Secret Garden. The estimated timeline for these productions is auditions in April/May for productions in June and July and auditions in July for a production in September.

Open to Ages 13 - High School

Playhouse Series Productions – Indoor productions in the Children’s Theatre’s smaller “black box” (flexible-space) theatre, fairytales designed to be performed by teens for very young audiences (ages 2-6). The estimated timeline for these productions is auditions in August for productions that are cast throughout September through May.

Open to PAUSD Grades 4 and 5

PAUSD Elementary School Outreach Productions – Indoor productions that take place on site at each PAUSD elementary school. Productions are held at six schools per year, serving all twelve district elementary schools in two-year cycles. Audition information will be posted onsite at the individual schools where productions take place. All participants who audition will be cast (size of role and weekly rehearsal commitment will vary.)
