Confidential Tip

The Palo Alto Police Department values receiving information from community members.  While we prefer to have community members call our 24-hour dispatch center or visit our front desk to receive service (visit our Contact Directory page for more information), we realize that sometimes, people may feel more comfortable submitting a confidential, anonymous tip to us.

If you would like to submit a confidential, anonymous tip, please complete the form below.

DO NOT USE THIS FORM if you are reporting a crime in progress, an emergency, or any situation that merits an in-person immediate response from a police officer. 

This form is intended for non-emergency tips. Instead of using this form, you can call 9-1-1 or our 24-hour dispatch center at (650) 329-2413.  You can request to remain anonymous to the Public Safety Dispatcher who answers your call.  Alternately, you can send us an anonymous text message by texting the keyword PAPD and your tip to 847411, or you can send us a mobile tip (including tips and video) via the "Palo Alto PD Tips" app; download for free via the App Store or Google Play.  And watch this video on how to use the app.
