Join us for an engaging evening with artist Nina K. Ekman at her studio (F4), part of the Cubberley Artist Studio Program. Experience a personal guided tour where Ekman will share insights into her artistic practice, creative processes, and current projects. Get a firsthand look at her studio and witness a live demonstration of one of her signature techniques: tufting.

Nina K. Ekman is a Norwegian-born artist who is currently juried- in on a 4-year Artist in-residence program in Palo Alto, California, where she resides with her husband and two children. Ekman has studied art at Parsons School of Art and Design in Paris, product design at The Design Academy in the Netherlands, and copper etching and printing at Atelier Velasco & Meller in Paris. Additionally, she holds a Cand. Psych. from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. 

Ekman has exhibited her work in galleries and museums across Europe, US and Asia, including the Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale Exhibition. She was a finalist in the 2021 Luxembourg Art Prize and placed third at the BBA ArtPrize at Kühlhaus in Berlin. She has also been a resident at the Danish National Workshops of Art and has received several work grants for her solo exhibitions. Her work has been commissioned for public spaces in Denmark, including a textile outdoor mural.
