The Palo Alto Community Survey is a feedback tool that helps the City Council and City staff understand community perspectives on current services and programs, as well as unmet needs and priorities. The survey was initially sent via mail on August 13 to a random sample population of resident households. On September 15, the survey opens citywide.
We need volunteers to help with planting the new Palo Alto Horizontal Levee!
The Horizontal Levee is a nature-based approach that will protect against sea level rise and enhance habitat in the Baylands. This project is unique because it is the first of its kind to be built on the San Francisco Bay shoreline using treated wastewater from the Regional Water Quality Control Plant to irrigate native plants. It will also inform future “living levee” designs throughout the Bay Area. The Project broke ground in September, and construction continues through early 2026. At these events you will help with the finishing touch of planting the levee's native habitat.
These events are managed by Save the Bay, who is a partner on this project. Sign up on their website to participate.
