The Palo Alto Community Survey is a feedback tool that helps the City Council and City staff understand community perspectives on current services and programs, as well as unmet needs and priorities. The survey was initially sent via mail on August 13 to a random sample population of resident households. On September 15, the survey opens citywide.

Progress continues on the Newell Road Bridge Replacement Project with mid-September AT&T and Comcast fiber line relocation and existing pole removal and street tree removal starting September 15. Tree trunks within the channel from earlier removals will remain to provide bank stability during the rainy season. The City’s contractor is reviewing construction plans and preparing the project schedule, and submittals, for construction in early 2026.
The bridge will be closed to all traffic starting in March 2026 for approximately one year. This schedule provides the public with continued use of the bridge until March.
