Housing Work Plan

The City Council adopted the Housing Work Plan Implementation Ordinance (#5460) on April 1, 2019. The Housing Work Plan Implementation Ordinance was drafted in response to address issues related to housing production, affordability, and preservation in Palo Alto. The ordinance amended sections of the existing Palo Alto Municipal Code (Title 18) to encourage production of a diversity of housing types in appropriate locations. The draft Housing Work Plan Implementation Ordinance was reviewed by the Planning and Transportation Commission (PTC) in September 2018. The City Council reviewed the Ordinance in two parts: Part 1 in December 2018 and Part 2 in January 2019. The City Council meeting staff reports and minutes are listed below.
