Public Safety Building Project The new Public Safety Building will house the Police Department, 911 Emergency Dispatch Center, the Emergency Operations Center, the Office of Emergency Services, and the administration needs of the Fire Department.
Fire Station No. 3 Replacement Project The new Fire Station No. 3 will replace the aging Fire Station No. 3 and will meet current California Building Codes (CBC), Essential Services Building Seismic Safety Act, American with Disabilities Act (ADA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and OSHA standards.
Highway 101 Pedestrian / Bike Bridge Project The Highway 101 Pedestrian/Bike Bridge Project at Adobe Creek will replace the existing seasonal Benjamin Lefkowitz Underpass that is available only half the year (on average) due to seasonal flooding.
Downtown Parking Garage Project The City intends to construct a new parking garage at parking Lot D, an existing surface parking lot located at 375 Hamilton Avenue in the Downtown Business District. The project is part of the 2014 Council Infrastructure Plan and is intended to supplement parking inventory as part of the City’s efforts to address parking and traffic congestion.
Boulware Park and Birch Street Property Renovation Project The Boulware Renovation Capital Improvement Project was initially set up to focus improvements on the existing Boulware Park parcels. With the recent purchase of the Birch Street Property the scope of the park project has expanded to include this new parcel.
Charleston / Arastradero Corridor Project The 2.3-mile Charleston-Arastradero Corridor is a heavily used, residential- arterial road, serving as an east-west connector for the southern section of Palo Alto.
Newell Road/San Francisquito Creek Bridge Replacement Project The City of Palo Alto, in partnership with the City of East Palo Alto, Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) and the San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority (SFCJPA), evaluated options for the replacement of the Newell Road Bridge over San Francisquito Creek.
Storm Drain Pump Stations and Systems Upgrades The Corporation Way System Upgrades and Pump Station, West Bayshore Road Pump Station, and West Bayshore Road Trunk Line Improvements projects are three of the highest-priority storm drain projects identified in the City’s 2015 Storm Drain Master Plan and 3 of the 13 projects identified on the 2017 ballot measure.
Storm Drainage System Replacement & Rehabilitation Project The Storm Drainage System Replacement and Rehabilitation program is funded by the Storm Water Management Fee ballot measure that was approved by Palo Alto voters in April 2017.
Fire Station No. 4 Replacement Project This project is replacing the previous Fire Station No. 4 with a new facility built to current essential services standards with a high likelihood of being fully operational during and after a major disaster such as a significant earthquake.
California Avenue Garage Project The California Avenue Parking Garage is part of the 2014 Council Infrastructure Plan. The new public parking garage is located at 350 Sherman Avenue, and the new Public Safety Building (PSB) will be right next to it at 250 Sherman Avenue.
University Avenue Streetscape Project The new University Avenue Streetscape project will adapt the public realm to maximize pedestrian and bicycle use, reduce congestion, accentuate and enhance the retail environment/economic activity, while maintaining vital two-way vehicular access, parking opportunities, delivery and loading zones, ride share spaces, and other amenities including performance space.
Palo Alto Community Restroom Facility The City is currently installing new restrooms at a number of locations in Palo Alto recreation facilities. These recreation facilities were chosen due to the high volume of use by the community and the high-quality facilities that require a restroom facility for prolonged use.
East Meadow Drive & East Meadow Circle Capacity Upgrades This project proposes to create a storm drain bypass by implementing a new storm drain line to connect to the existing manhole on East Meadow Circle and the existing manhole on East Meadow Drive.
Robles Park Renovation Project The Robles Park Renovation Project will focus on the replacement of the play equipment and surfacing in the two existing playgrounds
Bridge Improvements Project In 2020, the City established a recurring bridge inspection, maintenance, and repair program to inspect bridge and culvert structures, recommendations for repairs, and maintenance to meet functional and structural improvements in accordance with industry standards.
Hamilton Avenue System Upgrades The Hamilton Avenue Capacity Upgrades Project (SD-25000) extends from Center Drive to Rhodes Drive and was identified as a high-priority improvement in the Storm Drain Master Plan Update dated June 2015.
