The City of Palo Alto offers an exceptional network of open space preserves, parks, and recreation facilities that enhance the community’s quality of life. With more than 4,000 acres of open space preserves and 162 acres of neighborhood parks and playing fields, residents and visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, and outdoor recreation in a variety of natural and developed settings. The city also operates Baylands Golf Links, a premier 18-hole facility with a driving range that provides year-round play, practice, and instruction. Together, these parks and facilities reflect Palo Alto’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship, outdoor recreation, and community well-being.
