Fiber Telecommunications Shelter at Colorado Sub

Project Description

The City is installing a telecommunication shelter in front of the Colorado Substation at 1082 Colorado Avenue. This project is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen local communications infrastructure and ensure reliable service for residents and businesses as a critical part of the Palo Alto Fiber project. This project will include:

• Site grading at the corner of Colorado Avenue and West Bayshore Road
• Construction of a concrete foundation for the shelter
• Installation of supporting utility substructure and equipment
• Delivery of prefabricated telecommunication shelter
• Installation of a security fence

Project Timeline

The project began in October 2025 and is anticipated to be complete by December 2025. Work will generally occur Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be scheduled if necessary.

Community Impact

• Temporary lane or sidewalk closures may occur near the site entrance
• Noise and construction activity will be limited to permitted hours
• Access to nearby properties and utilities will remain open at all times
