An interactive, hand-cranked movie box at Cubberley inspired by early cinema machines, created by local artist Ala Mohseni. Visitors turn a crank to reveal a silent, poetic visual story tracing El Palo Alto through time, unfolding through thousands of sequential images.
The work transforms history into a continuous visual narrative of shifting landscapes and forms, experienced through a peephole lens. The device also exposes its inner mechanics, offering insight into how motion and storytelling are constructed.
