Wastewater from your business, and any pollutants in it, drains to the Regional Water Quality Control Plant and eventually to the San Francisco Bay. The Watershed Protection group assists businesses in the Plant's service area (Palo Alto, Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Stanford University, and East Palo Alto Sanitary District). It provides outreach and education to help you avoid or minimize pollutants in your wastewater. It also issues permits and conducts inspections to enforce the requirements of the Palo Alto Municipal Sewer Use Ordinances.
