Four of Thousands

Ehren Tool is a ceramist who raises awareness about war through his artwork. Tool produces clay vessels, which are decorated with press molds of military medals or images of war. Since 2001 the artist has donated over 14,000 of his cups to members of various communities as a way to provoke conversations about war. The four artworks donated to the City’s public art collection were created during Tool's residency at the Palo Alto Art Center in 2014.
